- U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
- JB&B was an early corporate member of the USGBC National Organization.
- New York Chapter of USGBC – JB&B was a founding Board member of the New York City Chapter.
- With numerous LEED-accredited professionals on staff, JB&B is implementing the LEED Rating System on an ever-growing list of completed and current projects.
- New York City Green Building Codes and Legislation
- JB&B serves in an ongoing capacity by supporting several New York City non-profits and the Mayor's Office in the development of a wide variety of legislative initiatives to increase the environmental performance of the City's building stock.
- JB&B is called upon to assist with education and training of agency personnel on energy performance related Codes and issues.
- New York State Energy Code
- JB&B serves on the Energy Code subcommittee charged with implementing updates to the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code.
- New York State Green Building Tax Credit (New York State Legislation)
- JB&B was an active contributor to the drafts of the Guidelines for implementing the Tax Credit.
- We have evaluated the implications of the requirements of the Tax Credit for several large commercial projects in New York City.
- Sustainable Design Guidelines – World Trade Center Redevelopment
- The firm was an active participant in the drafting of the sustainable design guidelines that will govern all commercial development on the site. These guidelines incorporate many of the requirements of LEED and New York State Executive Order 111.
- ASHRAE Standard 90.1
- This is the de facto standard for model Energy Conservation Codes in the United States, as well as one of the allowable Energy Codes in New York State.
- We have extensive experience applying and interpreting the three compliance paths of this standard in the context of numerous projects.
- In addition, we are active on the national ASHRAE committee that is responsible for the ongoing development of the 90.1 standard.
