Tony Montalto Retires from JB&B

Tony Montalto has had an extraordinary career at JB&B, helping shape the firm’s expertise in plumbing and fire protection engineering for more than five decades. Since joining the firm in 1970, Tony has brought steady leadership and technical rigor to some of the industry’s most notable projects, leaving a lasting mark on both the built environment and the people fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Throughout his career, Tony contributed to a wide range of landmark projects across the commercial, hospitality, residential, and healthcare sectors, including the Bank of America headquarters at One Bryant Park, the Whitney Museum of American Art, 10 Hudson Yards, the Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas, Essex House, and the Willis Tower (formally known as the Sears Tower) in Chicago, among many others.

Beyond his technical expertise, Tony is known as a true people person. As dedicated as he has always been to his work, he has been equally committed to being approachable, open-hearted and generous with his time, whether listening, guiding, mentoring, or simply making someone feel welcome. He has a rare ability to make friends wherever he goes, building lasting relationships throughout the firm and industry alike.

Widely respected for his mentorship, practical wisdom, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Tony’s impact on JB&B extends far beyond the work itself. His legacy will continue through the many colleagues and engineers he helped guide throughout his remarkable career.
