As part of its continued growth, JB&B joined the Trinity Consultants team in 2025 to lead MEP engineering within their Built Environment division. Our clients can now benefit from JB&B’s legacy of engineering combined with Trinity’s broader multidisciplinary expertise across Built Environment, Life Sciences, Environmental Consulting, and Water & Ecology.

A Century of Innovation

We are shaped by the legacy of our founders who first established our practice in 1915 with the intention of engaging with their community and inspiring further innovation. It's no surprise that, for over one hundred years, JB&B has been a leader in our industry.

  1. Mechanical engineers Alfred L. Jaros, Jr. and Albert L. Baum founded the firm.
  2. Jaros & Baum incorporate x-ray scanning—novel technology at the time—in their inspections of welds and pressure vessels.
  3. Frederick Bolles joins Jaros & Baum, bringing innovative plumbing design to the firm and broadening JB&B's horizons.
  4. JB&B recognized early on how computer technology would revolutionize engineering and continued to look for new ways to make the built environment more efficient and sustainable.
  5. Even in the 1950s, JB&B was looking ahead, exploring solar energy and its potential to shape the buildings of the future.
  6. JB&B continues to develop its client base outside of New York as the firm sets its sights on international projects.
  7. JB&B assists in the build and completion of the World Trade Center, as well as numerous other New York City skyscrapers.
  8. With significant projects in England and Germany, JB&B affirms its international presence.
  9. JB&B goes digital as engineers transition to computer programs, streamlining major international projects.
  10. Championing sustainable design and energy efficiency, JB&B develops some of the city’s first LEED-certified buildings.
  11. JB&B continues to pioneer new technologies, advancing decarbonization strategies and building electrification.
