Michael J. Taglione
PE
Director, Artificial Intelligence
Michael Taglione serves as Director of Artificial Intelligence at JB&B, where he leads the firm’s applied AI and software development practice within the Innovation team. Since joining the firm in 2014 as an electrical engineer, he has worked at the intersection of MEP engineering and software development through identifying, building, and deploying technology that changes how engineers design, review, and deliver projects.
In 2016, he founded THRUX, an integrated MEP design environment that helps electrical engineers reduce design modeling time by 40%. It is now in production use and has been used in the design of over 700 buildings, including some of the New York City’s most high-profile development projects such as Hudson Yards, Moynihan Train Hall, 270 Park Avenue, and the New Terminal One at JFK International Airport.
He’s now leading JB&B’s AI transformation, where his active initiatives span enterprise knowledge capture and refinement to powering JB&B engineers with an AI tool kit not just to use, but to build the next generation of AI solutions.
He is a builder. His tracks can be found in internal tools to profile operational workflows, early concepts of enterprise knowledge agents, AI-generated proposals, and AI-powered drawing reviews, bringing frontier agents into Revit to build alongside modelers.
Mr. Taglione earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York. He founded the firm’s internal Innovation Community Group, is a member of JB&B’s Standards Committee for Electrical Calculations, and has spoken on construction technology and applied AI at industry forums, including Suffolk Boost, Shadow Summit, Computational Building Design, and AEC INNOVATE, among others.
