Principal

Molly Dee-Ramasamy is a Principal with the JB&B Deep Carbon Reduction Group, a team focused on decarbonization in the built environment. Her experience includes energy- and carbon-reduction master planning, strategic electrification, decarbonization consulting, industry research and innovation. Since founding the Deep Carbon Reduction Group in 2019, Molly has successfully led building decarbonization and electrification studies representing millions in sq.ft. of real estate. Many of these studies have been public-private partnerships with state and city agencies that serve to demonstrate decarbonization approaches that are scalable and affordable, and that promote grid flexibility in dense urban environments.

Molly has experience in the commercial, higher ed, life science, healthcare, museum, hospitality, and multi-family residential building sectors. She understands the technical challenges of decarbonizing large, complex buildings and prides herself on developing practical solutions for her clients. As a complement to her technical background, Molly brings a unique approach to communicating complex ideas to the industry. She has led several talks and learning sessions with real estate stakeholders, industry groups, and policy makers to demystify building decarbonization from the engineering perspective.

In addition to her work with JB&B, Molly is actively engaged in both city and state sustainability policy efforts. Her engagements include Co-Chair of NYC Carbon Challenge, Mayor’s Office of Sustainability Industry Council, Urban Green Council’s LL97 Carbon Trading Study Stakeholder Group, NYSERDA Technology-to-Market Professional Fellowship, New York State’s Energy Efficiency & Housing Advisory Panel, Decarbonizing New York City Offices initiative, NYC Building Sustainability Board, the Benchmark 8760 Initiative, the Empire Technology Prize, and We Source NYC Advisors.

Molly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York and a Certified Energy Auditor of the Association of Energy Engineers.
