Creating Space for Reflection

Supporting the intersection of art, engineering, and community, JB&B provided pro bono mechanical and electrical design services for Wake, a monumental public art installation by acclaimed artist Mel Chin in New York City's Times Square.

Created in collaboration with UNC Asheville faculty and students, the installation transformed one of the world's busiest public spaces into a place for reflection, inviting visitors to consider the impacts of climate change through the lens of art. JB&B worked alongside the project team to provide engineering support for the sculpture, helping realize a powerful public installation that inspired conversation about the future of our environment.
