Manhattan University, Higgins Engineering and Science Center

This 30,000 gsf engineering and science center connects to Manhattan University’s existing Leo Hall Engineering Building, and provides three laboratory floors consisting of biology, chemistry, civil, physics and mechanical lab spaces. Many of the engineering systems are accessible to students for educational purposes, such as the boiler plant, which has glass windows along one wall allowing students to view the interior workings of the plant, and the penthouse MER has vision glass so that the complex MEP plant can be observed from the corridor. The project includes a modular chiller plant to support the new building, which is also expandable to accommodate the future needs of the existing Leo Hall facility. The project was awarded LEED Gold certification.
