Designing a World-Class Cell and Gene Therapy Campus

SK pharmteco’s Cell and Gene Therapy Campus (f/k/a Center for Breakthrough Medicines) is a purpose-built and patient-driven cell and gene therapy contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). SK pharmteco is uniquely positioned to enable pharma and biotech companies to develop, test, and manufacture lifesaving therapies on a global scale. A series of fit-outs and infrastructure upgrades throughout several of its buildings began in 2021, an effort in which JB&B has been instrumental.

Building 21: A four-floor renovation of approximately 128,000 sq.ft., including cell therapy cGMP space containing Grade B, C and D spaces; non-cGMP wet laboratory space (BSL-1/BSL-2) and support spaces; warehouse space; and associated infrastructure upgrades. JB&B provided MEP/FP, IT, security, lighting design services, P&IDs, and AF&IDs.

Building 24: A four-floor renovation of approximately 116,000 sq.ft., including viral vector manufacturing cGMP and fill finish cGMP spaces; non-cGMP wet laboratory space (BSL-2+) and support spaces; cGMP sampling booth; cGMP warehouse space and loading dock; and associated infrastructure upgrades. JB&B provided MEP/FP, IT, security, lighting design services, P&IDs, and AF&IDs.

Building 25: Multiple renovation projects totaling approximately 20,000 sq.ft., for which JB&B provided MEP/FP, IT design services, and P&IDs. Among these projects were a metrology laboratory renovation that will be utilized for calibrating instruments as well as wet labs and GMP training area renovations.

Building 28: Multiple renovation projects totaling approximately 40,000 sq.ft. The 1st Floor consists of BSL-2 labs, cell therapy suite, offices; support spaces, and associated infrastructure upgrades. The 3rd Floor work included a viral vector accelerator and labs; GMP space, including ISO Grades B, C and D; support spaces; and associated infrastructure upgrades. JB&B provided MEP/FP, IT, security, lighting design services, P&IDs, and AF&IDs.

Building 30: A three-floor renovation of approximately 63,000 sq.ft., it includes viral vector labs; GMP space, including Grades B, C and D; support spaces; and associated infrastructure upgrades. JB&B provided MEP/FP, IT, security, lighting design services, P&IDs, and AF&IDs.
