Reviving a Midcentury Masterpiece

This project consisted of the redevelopment of Eero Saarinen’s landmark TWA Flight Center at JFK International Airport. The 190,000 gsf renovation included the renovation of the existing 90,000 sq.ft. Flight Center into amenity spaces, including restaurants, fitness center and spa, with “tubelike connections” to two new hotel wings with 510 keys and a rooftop infinity pool.

The Flight Center project included a new food hall; restoration of the Paris Café, Lisbon Lounge and Ambassadors Club; and other amenities for airline passengers and hotel guests. The complex has a 40,000 sq.ft. conference center building strategically located between the hotel wings, the TWA Flight Center and Jet Blue Terminal 5. The project achieved LEED-NC Gold certification.
